Irmscher motorsport as a participant in the Groupe B rally legends

Since the founding in 1968 the name Irmscher stands for the passion around the topic automobile. The capital of the proceeds of a rally vehicle of the avid motor sportsman Günther Irmscher Sen. served as seed capital for the establishment of the company.

Meanwhile, an internationally corporate group has emerged which one is offering the business aftersales / accessories, special vehicles and services in engineering and design area. Customers of this range can be found throughout the automotive industry and world wide.

At the weekend 08./09. July in the Austrian Saalfelden there was a star-studded event - the Group B rally legends offered motorsport and history at its best.

In addition to many cars from the 80s of group B and group B to group S there were spectacular rally cars like Lancia Stratos, Lancia 037, Opel Manta 400, Audi S1 and many more models.

Irmscher Motorsport was there as well - Sepp Haider, former Irmscher factory driver drove with a Irmscher Opel Kadett C Coupe and once by Walter Röhrl for Rallye Monte Carlo 1973 piloted Irmscher Opel Commodore B GS / E.

In addition to special stages in the area around Saalfelden the highlights were the live televised "Night of Thunder" and the special stage "cauldron" on ORF in which a street circuit in Saalfelden had to be circled twice and enthusiastic about 10,000 spectators.
